One thing we’ve always appreciated was the way kids came together to be with each other, sing, ask questions about God and grow in your faith. You always had the best questions when we’d ask you to write down your questions for God and talk about “What’s holding you back?” when it comes to growing in your faith. We will keep that momentum going in a new gathering on Monday nights called “ConneXions“. That’s just a fancy word that means faith conversations, fellowship and music, all led by students. Teen Gospel Choir is undergoing a makeover for 2026 – There will be NO Choir!

WHAT! After 13 years, our Director Mr. Johnson needed to step back from the choir to pursue a calling God has placed on his heart. When God talks, we need to listen.

I spent months talking with various people trying to fill the role of Choir Director, seeking out individuals or trying to assemble a Team of Directors. But no luck. So for now, there is no Choir in Teen Gospel Choir in 2026.

BUT…it’s not over. One thing we’ve always appreciated was the way kids came together to be with each other, sing, ask questions about God and grow in your faith. We will keep that momentum going in a new gathering on Monday nights called “ConneXions“. That’s just a fancy word that means faith conversations, fellowship and music, all led by students.

The typical Monday night will be a time to connect with your friends, meet new teens, spend some time in Worship, have conversations with other teens about the questions you have and find out what God has to say. Most importantly, you’ll hear from your peers on how they deal with doubt, fear and how they overcome obstacles in their faith journey. That in a nutshell is ConneXions.

We’ll alternate meetings in Stewartville and Rochester, just like Gospel Choir, from 7-8:30p. (We’ll end at 8:30, giving you time to stay & play or hit your favorite hang out spot.)

ConneXions is for HS students ONLY (Grades 9-12).
